 Every year on the 1st of April we celebrate April fools!
April fools is a 1/4 in Numerology and it has this vibration each Year. This 2019 is a 3 year which equates to a year of joy, passion and greatly exercising ones creativity and inner fire in a way that has to lead to happiness and joy! A Spot of History on How April Fools day came to be .. There is a bit of mystery as to where it all originated. April Fools is thought to possibly come from the ancient festival called Hilaria. It was also linked to the first day of Spring and the Equinox, where the weather being between two seasons, could be entirely unpredictable. It is even thought to be affiliated to Halloween, a winter festival that embraces ‘fun’ in the dark - whereas this is much lighter in spirit and involves light hearted pranking with the rebirth of the sun. Originally April fools is even thought to go back to the transition from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar. This was when the beginning of the year was moved from the 1st of April to the 1st of January. Supposedly in the 16th century when the changeover from the calendars occurred, some were slow to realize this and were still celebrating the new year on the 1st of April, and they were shamed for this and called April fools! April Fools Day is celebrated annually on April 1st and the pranks have to be laughed at to be considered successful. Thus if there isn’t any laughter the April fools trick has not been perceived to have worked! Another school of thought believes it even goes back to the Canterbury Tales by Chaucer, whereby March ‘32 ‘is the date mentioned - Some feel it may just have been a misprint and simply meaning the end of March. What ever the history, people still celebrate the day by playing April fools jokes and by dubbing the person as an ‘April fool’ should the prank or joke have been successful. Dubbing someone the fool on this day is what the merriment is all about. 11 countries specifically celebrate it and each have a slightly different take on it - The common essence is the consistency of a joke or prank being played and the need for laughter afterwards. -In Ireland it’s only celebrated until 12, after that time the jokes are frowned upon! -In Scotland it’s celebrated for two days! it’s called Goga day and people placed tails on each others backs for fun or to be dubbed the fool! -In USA its about fake tv news for the day. -In France people put fish images on peoples backs usually an activity for children - In the UK people only play pranks till noon -In India children love to trick their friends -In Brazil it is called ‘the day of the lie’ -In Greece they predict that if you succeed to trick someone the person will have a good year. -In Italy, same as in France, the children also prank friends by attaching a fish to friends backs -In Poland there is a phrase used saying be wary if you don’t want to fall victim to the tricks -In Sweden, when you are successful in tricking someone, you just shout I tricked you J April fools and the Tarot By looking at the old tradition of calling the 1st of April the 32nd of March, we work out the April fools vibration to be a 5. This 5 vibration is mirrored on both ends. By adding 3+2 we get a 5. By adding the 1st of April (1 + 4th month) we still get a 5. The 5 vibration is the rebel, the life questioner, which ties in with the witty and funny aspect of the pranking. The Fool in the Major Arcana card depicts this : The Fool bursts forth seeking new experiences of joy and new beginnings. Thus there can be a reckless and jester aspect to this card. It represents the fool and innocent in all of us. By considering ourselves as the journeyman, the card challenges us to be courageous, have faith and laugh at ourselves a little. It requires us to be light and have joy in the new beginnings. It asks us to have humor. The 1 energy of the 1st of April is about the pioneering, standing out, and stepping into the role of the magician and the trickster! The 1 is the individualistic twist of energy and vibe around the April 1 pranking. It is the personal ownership that we take of the pranks and the jokes we play on others. It is on devising and creating them with the hope that we create laughter as an end result! The Magician is the Magus within all of us. The one who juggles all the elements -the written word, ones will power, innate wisdom and new Ideas. And looking at the magician tarot card in reverse, it can mean trickery, which is the aim of the day. The 5 card in Tarot is called the Hierophant. The card represents the secret keeper. The one who has the secret knowledge of creation, and shares this knowledge only with a select few. Knowledge after all grants you power. The card depicts the Pope with two monks bowing at his feet. Each is clothed differently, one in a robe covered with roses, the other in vegetation. This represents the unique knowledge each has learned from the Hierophant and the secret keeper. No Joke or prank is complete without the secret knowledge of it, and sharing it with the select few to be included or a part of it. This is what the Hierophant represents. The Numerology if this day is a 1/4 and is quite a complex vibration- The 1 archetype is about self expression, individually, the pioneering of new ideas and April Fools’ Day is a fab day for fun and tricks, new pranks and laughter! The 4 is the more serious vibration and is the number that talks to integrity, stability, responsibility and taking ownership of ones actions. It talks to the fact that we all need to analyse whether our prank is innocent or whether it could be misinterpreted as something cruel and to the detrimental expense of someone else. One is all about being leader and acting on creative Ideas. Its about being in alignment with your purpose and will. Its about being an original thinker and owning and shaping these thoughts into reality. The complexity of the number vibration comes into play when our playful ideas that victimize a person for the sake of a joke needs to be owned. Where we need to tell the truth and own that it was us that created the prank. This is the manifestation of the 4 vibration. It asks us to consider whether the person would consider the prank in gest, or take it personally and be affronted by the act. Its asking us to be accountable and honorable in our deeds. The ¼ vibration is the perfect Combination of the prankster and the analyst. This years 3 vibration should add to the joyful and the fun aspects of the day!
